The Secret of Michelle

Mathematician and inspiring writer...

I do like to repost quotes that mean something to me, but anything with my name at the end came from me.

Ryder…

His parents’ lack of parenting, and his sister’s tendency to be, well, perfect, forced Ryder want to feel important, even if it meant risking his life to feel that way.

This is so true

That moment when you finish a book, look around, and realize that everyone is just carrying on with their lives as though you didn’t just experience emotional trauma at the hands of a paperback.

New Tattoo

I recently had my first tattoo redone and some additions made to it. The words that were sketched into my skin are “Dreams come true, not free”. This quote reminds me of the series finale of Dawson’s Creek where Joey tells Dawson that dreams aren’t perfect, they come true not free. But I truly believe this.

I have not always had that easiest life, though I would not consider it the hardest either. But to get where I am today, even if to some people it might not seem that far, was a real struggle. I sacrificed a lot; time, money, friends, family… and even at times my sanity. And though I may not yet be a published writer, or finished my PhD in mathematics, I have accomplished a lot and I am on my way to achieving my ultimate goals. Thus I do believe that dreams are attainable, and though they come at a cost, the price is usually worth it.

I wonder how many people I’ve looked at all my life and never seen.

Nothing left

Every piece,

broken in me.

Even time can’t heal me now.

Trouble inside,

wish I could lie,

pretend it was better some how.

Something’s wrong,

can’t figure it out.

Will it always be this way?

Missing piece,

can’t be found,

there’s nothing left to say.

voices in my head

sometimes I answer the voices in my head and sometimes I let them talk amongst themselves… some people think I’m crazy but I just like to think of it as having an active imagination

You don’t write because you want to say something, you write because you have something to say.
